WFMW - Community Supported Agriculture

If you’ve been reading my blog, you’ll know that last week, we received the summer’s first vegetable box from our CSA. CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” Basically, that means we have purchased a share of the summer’s harvest from a local, organic farm. Each week we get a box full of healthy, fresh, delicious vegetables.

It makes me feel good. Not only are we eating more vegetables than we ever have, we’re being “greener” since we are buying locally and furthermore buying from a strictly organic company. I can’t tell you how good that makes me feel.

Last week we got our first box and it honestly is like getting a great surprise every week. We’ve had garlic scapes, broccoli, spinach, bok choi, radishes, lettuce and more. It is all so fresh. And compared to what you can buy in the grocery store, it is amazing.

If you have a CSA near you, I urge you try it out for a season. It will change the way you eat. It really works for me.

Very cool. I love the idea of a CSA delivered weekly…like you said, eating more heathly and fresh good and supporting local farmers! Great idea! I will look into seeing if we have this around us.

WOW, I did not know that there was anything like this and I just found out I have one in my area. I am definitely going to investigate this further!!

    Thank you very much! :-)
BTW, my little sister has 3 boys and she is NOT trying for a girl! Funny!
